I thought I'd take a few minutes here to give you a little sneak peek into what a Consultation with The Patio Farmer looks like. So, here we go!

When you schedule a Consultation, you'll be asked a series of quick, short-answer questions. These are super helpful to me and allow me to come prepared for our conversation.
First, Consultations can be scheduled in-person or virtually, whatever you feel most comfortable with. All in-person Consultations are conducted outdoors, in your growing space. I also don't mind meeting shine, or rain. Just nothing too crazy, hee hee.
Second, is we see your growing space(s) and take a tour. I like starting with this so we can review all the possible growing spaces! This is when I usually pull out my compass (its an app on my phone). I do a quick scan and analysis of how the sun moves across your space and give coaching on placement of new growing spaces and ideas for seasonal planning based on this very critical component to successful food growing. Remember, all your edible plants need a minimum of 6 hours / day. But they can never have too much sun!
The rest of the time is spent however is most helpful to you! We can sit and go through a list of questions you have, we can brainstorm new ideas, I can offer best practices for plant care or constructing new spaces, we can talk through your goals for the year (like starting a compost pile or backyard orchard), we can talk through services that would be most helpful to have from me, the time is yours to troubleshoot and plan!
As we chat, I take notes on what I can send you as a set of follow-up information. I always like to send along ideas for next steps or summary notes from our conversation. These usually come 1-3 business days following our Consultation (longer waits during the busy season!). One of my favorite follow-up activities, especially for spring, is building a seasonal site plan and design for clients!
When you're ready to chat about your growing space, let's find time!
